Sub categories for each work day
It would nice to have a way of knowing when your day "started" and "stopped" by automatically clocking you in when you arrive at your first job of the day and punching out when you leave for the day. Then the app can help allocate how much time you are spending within each job based on your location. The remainder will be travel time, job related errands, etc. and have it's own time entry that accumulates throughout the day. I am in the construction industry and we are constantly going to pick up materials, which should be "on the clock",…

Create levels of access
I would like to install this app on the phones of my employees to help track what jobs they are spending time on. It would be nice to be able to disable the manual entry feature so thy cannot tamper with their hours.

Give day- week- month-rate options for rate calculations
Besides $ per hour, give options for per day, per week, or per month. Some of my work is lump-sum as a monthly rate, so I'd like to include those fees in the charts and graphs.

Different Done Today alert times
I would really appreciate it to Set different done for Today alert times.
Currently there is only one Time setting per Job.
In My company the worktime on Fridays differs from the Time on other Weekdays. A setting for the Job where the alert can be set for each weekday seperate would be a great help.3 votes -

updated feature
I attempted to enter a shift from 11pm to 1 am and your app didn't recognize this. I just thought I would let you know that this was an issue.

More functions for the desktop web app
Using the computer instead of your mobile device allows you to enter data faster and with a normal size keyboard, easy access to your e-mails and calendars, etc. It would be useful to be able to have at least the same functionality on the web than in all the devices (Add time entries, add jobs, even export to google cals, etc.). As a matter of reference, look at the website/app fro mint.com... it's simple, graphically pleasing and the functionality is broad but not too much.

Pay day
Add view / arrange by pay day... So instead of being able to view according to the last day of the pay period I can have a view by pay day. This would be helpful when people have two jobs that pay differently, like one job that is pays weekly, bi weekly, and monthly

add a Tasks field
Since my "Jobs" are actually Customers, I suggest that you add a tasks field inside the "jobs" to list tasks to be completed for that customer.
This will allow me to eliminate the need for Evernote and make HoursTracker the only ap needed in my business.7 votes -
Summary of the day showing start stop times
To ensure that every hour of the day is accounted for a summary of the day bit like calendar view with start and stop time for each job would be useful. A way to select a gap and assign a job even better.
